The scene that I analyzed was from Stanley Kubrick's The Shining is of Danny Torrence riding his Big Wheel down the halls of the Overlook hotel, to which he suddenly finds himself wound up in a haunting before his eyes. The scene unravels with an tracking shot of Danny on his big wheel, although the composition is an extreme long shot that eventually closes in to a medium close up as Danny reaches his stop. Once at the stop, the camera cuts to a close up of Danny's face, which is reacting to the apparition before him. Following, the editing of the scene follows a reverse action style from the point of view of Danny Torrence and the two young girls. Although, throughout the reverse action the composition of the girls begin with a long shot and closes in to a medium close up between each reverse action shot as it corresponds to the chants "Come play with us Danny. Forever. Forever...". Finally, the most interesting editing of the scene is the jump cut of the two young girls brutally murdered on the floor, thus with the editing allows a more effective and terrifying element added to the scene

  1. I like how you discuss the editing of the scene towards the end of your blog. Good job.

One of the most crucial aspect I saw during Kobayashi’s meeting and her performance was the innovation in entertainment. It brought forward a new way to string an audience together and allow them to participate with the show, which I found fairly interesting. Now, the whole concept of “Say Something Bunny” demonstrates the various forms of media and entertainment that hasn’t been exercised or thought of which to myself resonates as creating new forms of entertainment or media is my “go to”. Also, the use of history to the main aspect of the show was interesting as it provides a more in depths and insightful experience for the audience, which also remind myself of the importance of history in my personal work as it creates a story for the audience and in all a stronger experience.
